In partnership with Aquent, we are seeking exceptional talent for a forward-thinking, community-focused organization in the essential services sector. This organization is committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive sustainability, enhance customer experiences, and build operational resilience for the communities it serves.
Are you ready to revolutionize business processes and drive significant operational improvements? We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate automation expert to join a multidisciplinary digital innovation team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, building, and deploying high-impact automation solutions that streamline critical operations, dramatically boost efficiency, and elevate service delivery across the entire enterprise. Your expertise will directly shape how this organization operates, making a tangible difference in its ability to serve its customers and achieve its sustainability goals.
What You’ll Do
- Lead initial technical evaluations and feasibility assessments, providing expert engineering estimates, delivery assumptions, integration patterns, and comprehensive risk evaluations.
- Translate complex process designs, user stories, non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria into secure, scalable, and supportable low-code/automation solutions.
- Build robust automations and API integrations using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate (Cloud/Desktop), Power Apps, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio, adhering to approved architectural patterns.
- Implement and enforce engineering standards, including comprehensive exception handling, retry logic, structured logging, telemetry, alerting, environment variables, connection references, and secure credential storage.
- Design and execute thorough unit, functional, integration, regression, and non-functional test strategies, ensuring complete documentation and test evidence against acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and backlog refinement, managing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and version control via Azure DevOps.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, system diagrams, test scripts, release notes, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate effectively with Platform Engineers on environment capabilities and connectors, Architects on design reviews and standards, and Process Engineers on process readiness and standardization.
- Provide L3 engineering support, investigating and resolving production defects, workflow failures, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks for live automations.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying automation candidates, building reusable components, defining standard patterns, and promoting engineering best practices across the team.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
- Proven hands-on expertise in designing and delivering automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate (Cloud & Desktop), Power Apps, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio.
- Strong background in low-code automation development, API integrations, and constructing complex process workflows.
- Solid understanding of Power Platform governance and security best practices, including environment strategies, managed solutions, connection references, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secure credential handling.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), CI/CD release pipelines, and version control.
- Demonstrated experience implementing end-to-end testing strategies (from unit to non-functional) alongside robust error-handling, logging, and recovery mechanisms.
- Experience working effectively within Agile/Scrum teams, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-500, PL-200, PL-400, AB-620) or relevant Azure/AI credentials.
- Exposure to Copilot tools or Machine Learning platforms (e.g., Foundry, Azure ML).
- Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Workday, ServiceNow, or SAP Risk & Compliance.
